About the Database
The information in this database was composed by Elmer Waldmann (1935-2012), a member of the Jefferson Historical Society.
For many years, Elmer went to the Jefferson Public Library to read the microfilm copies of the Jefferson Banner. He laboriously summarized thousands of articles. He’d write the event in a notebook, then return to his store and enter each event into Excel spreadsheets.
This database now contains 61,215 events, although some are duplicates.
The Web version of the database was created by John Foust of goJefferson.com and donated to the Jefferson Historical Society.
